My husband and I have been married for eleven years today and to celebrate I share eleven things I've learned from marriage.

A picture of when my husband and I first met.

1) A happy marriage is possible.

2) Love can grow deeper and stronger with time.

3) It is feasible to never grow tired of someone.

4) When you assume the best of your spouse, when you give them the benefit of the doubt, you'll find you are often correct.

5) It takes two people to make a marriage work. It only takes one person to blow it up.

Our wedding day.

6) It is possible you can be wrong and your spouse is right.

7) It is possible that it doesn't matter who is right.

8) Find someone who makes you laugh but just as important make sure they think you're funny.

9) It feels really good to be accepted by someone who is well acquainted with your faults. Like the best feeling.

10) Marriage is teamwork. Remember it's you two vs. your kids not you and your kids vs. your spouse. A common enemy helps unify.

After having children.

11) Love is work and that work is loving.

Cheers to us, love!
